8th Annual Chinese Alzheimer's Forum
(Forum will be presented in Mandarin)
In 2013, the first G8 summit on dementia was held. The G8 countries committed to global collaboration to advance Alzheimer’s research and services. There are at least 44 million people worldwide with Alzheimer’s disease yet it is widely misunderstood. According to an Alzheimer’s Association 12- country survey, nearly 60% of people surveyed believe incorrectly that Alzheimer’s disease is a typical part of aging, and don’t know the severity of the disease. In this forum, you’ll learn about the warning signs, risk factors, treatments and research advancements in Alzheimer’s disease; you’ll understand the difficult behaviors that occur at the middle stage of the disease; you’ll learn about the changing needs for personal care of middle to late stage patients, and get practical suggestions for coping with them.
